Bloodborne fans should mark this coming Sunday, March 24 on their calendars, as that's the day the community is playing to return to the game. Bloodborne remains one of FromSoftware's biggest hits, but nine years after its launch, many fans have moved on to other games, namely other FromSoftware projects.

Since Bloodborne launched in 2015, FromSoftware has released Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Dark Souls 3, and Elden Ring, among other non-Soulslike games. With the Elden Ring DLC out on June 21, it's safe to say that most fans of the company's games are playing the open world game. It's harder than ever before to properly experience Bloodborne's co-op and PvP elements, but that will change starting March 24.

From March 24 to April 7, Bloodborne fans will be returning to the game for the Return to Yharnam 2024 event. This event encourages Bloodborne fans to create a new character, play as much co-op as possible, and leave messages that say "you're in the know, right?" next to lanterns. For anyone that missed out on playing Bloodborne when it first released in 2015, or anyone that simply wants to relive the game's glory days, March 24 is going to be the day that they want to boot it up again.

How to Play Bloodborne in 2024

Unfortunately, there still is no word on a potential Bloodborne PC port or remaster, and so the critically-acclaimed game has remained trapped on PlayStation consoles. The good news is that Bloodborne is at least playable on the latest PlayStation devices. Thanks to PS5 backward compatibility, Bloodborne is readily available to play on Sony's more powerful system. Of course, the game is also available to play on PS4 for those that have yet to upgrade. So as long as one has a PS4 or PS5 handy, the community-driven Return to Yharnam event should be accessible to them.

As for how much it costs to get Bloodborne in 2024, the base game costs $19.99, while the Complete Edition bundle that includes the base game and The Old Hunters expansion costs $34.99. Anyone that managed to claim Bloodborne for free when the PS Plus Collection was still a thing will still have access to it that way as well, assuming they still have an active PS Plus subscription. Bloodborne is also part of the PS Plus Extra tier, so that's another way to experience the game in 2024.
