The Epic Games Store is still going strong with its weekly free game promotion. Ever since 2019, the Epic Games Store has given away one or two free titles each week, with rotation of what's available occuring every Thursday at 10 AM CT. Out of everything given away, quite a lot of interesting options have been available on the Epic Games Store for 2024 from The Outer Worlds, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, and a few incidental double deals between weeks.

While it's rather normal to expect only one freebie on the storefront per week, sometimes players will get lucky and have two games to grab at no extra cost, but that shouldn't be what fans expect every time they check out the free games on the Epic Games Store. It appears that the week of April 18 is one where gamers can indeed pick up two titles for the price of none, and depending on what they're used to, they may end up reliving their childhood or just taking a trip down memory lane. With the '90s escapades of The Big Con and the sequel to popular bowser game Town of Salem being given away for free, many fans will be thrown back into the past with ease.

In late 2014, a free-to-play browser game would bring back a classic social deduction game format to the digital age. This would be Town of Salem, a free-to-play game inspired by the in-person Mafia and Werewolf games that would go on to embass quite a large player-base over the course of its lengthy years being active, with over seven million users playing Town of Salem in 2019. This number has likely only grown over the years, but it's likely about to slow down with the fact that there's an improved version of the title just as widely available.

Town of Salem 2 was released on July 26, 2023, and it aims to be everything the original game was but better, with improved dynamic animations, over 50 roles for characters to play, and even cosmetic items to bring more variety to the game's customization that can either be free or purchased through microtransactions. For those who are wanting to rediscover the decietful world of Town of Salem, the sequel is being added to the Epic Games Store's many regular free games with a limited time cosmetic pack being offered for those who snag it within its first week.
