Learn about Hyrule's regions in this new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

One of June's Nintendo Direct stars was The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the first game in the iconic series to star Princess Zelda herself. It's up to Zelda to save Hyrule from people being "stolen" by strange rifts. You can read more about that here. But if you want to take a much deeper look at the game, you'll want to watch last week's trailer about the regions of Hyrule and useful game functions.

There are four regions. The Gerudo Desert is scorching and has frequent sandstorms; you can find ruins and an oasis here. Jabul Waters features some of the land's most scenic waterways; you can find the Sea Zora and the River Zora here, though they don't get along. The Eldin Volcano region is home to Pacarico Village, found right at the mountain's base; it will be much more difficult to reach the home of the Gorons. Finally, the Faron Wetlands are filled with lush vegetation; you can find odd creatures called Deku Scrubs here, and they have a wicked sweet tooth.

Keep track of your quests in your Adventure Log, as helping people is integral to your journey and often nets you rewards. Waypoints are found across the land; find one and you can return to it quickly via the map. You can ride a horse, tromping over weak enemies and hopping over obstacles. Once learned, Carrot Echo will let you call your steed from anywhere in the overworld. During your travels, you will come across smoothie shops where you can blend collected ingredients into drinks with different effects based on what is used. Equip outfits and accessories to enhance your abilities.

The power of Bind allows you to make massive objects follow Zelda's movements. Unearth buried treasure, reposition enemies, or use it on your Echoes. To follow a moving object, use Reverse Bond. This is useful if you want to take advantage of a creature's travel abilities, like flying or moving quickly. Learning how Bind and Reverse Bond work together will be essential to moving forward.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released for Nintendo Switch on September 26.

New paid DLC will launch for Cult of the Lamb alongside its free Unholy Alliance update

Cult of the Lamb's Unholy Alliance update was announced during June's Devolver Direct. In it, a new playable character – the Goat – is born in corruption and summoned by blood. The Goat can join the Lamb in local co-op to explore dungeons, slay heretics, build your cult, and seek new powers. Solo players will also get new powers and abilities. Last week, paid DLC titled The Pilgrim Pack was announced.

The Pilgrim Pack is a new interactive adventure that will show the game's world like never before. It includes the full Pilgrim story plus bonus pages, two unique Follower quests, five new Follower forms, two new outfits for Followers, and five new decorations. In the story of Pilgrim, Jalala and Rinor traverse the land in search of a place they can call home. They just have to survive the Cultists wanting new sacrifices, terrifying creatures looking for their next meals, strange mushroom peddlers, and a rumoured wicked beast who stalks the land.

Developed by Massive Monster and published by Devolver Digital, Cult of the Lamb is available now for PC via Steam/GOG/Humble, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. The paid Pilgrim Pack DLC and the free Unholy Alliance update will be released on August 12.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's launch date has been moved forward in the West – and pre-orders are open!

When a video game gets a new release date, it's generally later than the original. But Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP does the opposite, moving forward about two weeks this September for players in the Americas or Europe. (The launch date remains September 26 in Asia.) In anticipation of the upcoming launch, pre-orders are now open for console versions of the game. Here is the pre-order trailer:

Lollipop Chainsaw is one of those games that creates a massive stir around it because it features a scantily-clad woman named. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remake of the original, and the story remains unchanged: Juliet has to fight through loads of zombies with her boyfriend's dismembered head at her side. This version includes quality-of-life updates such as supporting higher resolutions and frame rates, shorter load times, and improved input responses. On the more fun side of the updates, there are new chainsaws, a real-time attack mode, and new in-game collectibles.

Developed and published by Dragami Games, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be released digitally for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series on September 12. Two physical editions (standard and Cheerleader Edition) will be launching for consoles next year.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection is getting a wide retail physical release

To say I'm miffed doesn't begin to describe it. I just bought the Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Collection digitally for Nintendo Switch last week after waiting over a year for a wide release of the collection of six Final Fantasy games. The limited physical release in the West sold out almost immediately after pre-orders went live. So when it briefly went on sale, I jumped at the chance. A few days ago, Square Enix announced it would be releasing the physical collection again in the West as a wide retail release; this means it will be available in retail stores and via Square Enix. The upcoming Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Collection includes all games on one disc/cart and a sticker sheet featuring 12 characters.

All six games are updated with new 2D pixel graphics designed for HD displays, rearranged soundtracks overseen by the original composer, a new user interface, and the ability to change font/music at any time.

Gameplay-wise, choices include turning off random encounters, adjusting your experience gained and/or gils to adjust the difficulty, and auto-battle.

Developed and published by Square Enix, the Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Collection is currently available digitally for mobile devices, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It will launch physically in the West for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, on October 8.
