News The VA-11 Hall-A developers are back and tackling a Parasite Eve homage

Have you played VA-11 Hall-A yet? If not, you need to. Right now. Before you read the rest of this story. The game is just that good and I cannot believe you've missed out on it so far. It's also why you need to be excited for .45 Parabellum Bloodhound.

Okay, now you're back from that VA-11 Hall-A catch-up (see? Told you it was just that good), now you know why this new game is so exciting. Unlike the visual novel you just played, this will be an "Active Time Action" experience that will blend real-time and turn-based combat, and it is very, VERY reminiscent of Parasite Eve in both style and aesthetic.

Key features of the game as we know it so far:
  • Experience the tightly designed "Active Time Action" battle system, suitable for both newcomers and veterans.
  • Explore seven meticulously crafted, atmospheric stages with hand-placed encounters, dialogues, and riddles.
  • Enjoy detailed lo-fi visuals that enhance the texture of this rich cyberpunk world.
  • Immerse yourself in a gripping storyline waiting to be uncovered.
In the game, you'll be playing as Reila Mikazuchi; a mercenary whose glory days are long gone, and who is driven into the dark world and adventure as her last-ditch effort to turn her life around.

There's no release date or window yet (it'll be released "when it's ready"), but it will be playable for the first time at the BitSummit event in Kyoto from July 19-21.

There are few developers that I'd give the immediate benefit of the doubt to. We don't have many details about this game just yet, but it is one example of a developer that gets the immediate benefit of the doubt.
