With that kind of timeframe in mind, it makes sense for Wilds to start pumping out some new gameplay footage. Capcom's kicking things off with three rather informative videos that cover basic mechanics, the brand new Focus Mode, and the slightly revamped Great Sword weapon type.
The Focus Mode overview in particular is going to be of interest to returning players, as it demonstrates the new mechanic's usefulness. Essentially, you can use it to land more precise attacks, eventually weaking certain parts of the monster's body. And with a wound in place, you can then unleash a new Focus Strike that deals big damage.

Our main takeaway here is that Monster Hunter Wilds still looks incredibly promising, and we can't wait to see it in full flow via an expanded gameplay showcase. In the meantime, there's no doubt that we'll be seeing the game's other weapon types spotlighted in the near future.
