Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 marks 2024's installment in the iconic first-person shooter franchise developed by Treyarch. Take a look at this cryptic teaser trailer for the upcoming game with plenty of hidden messages, easter eggs, and a sentiment that the memory of a better time was false. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is launching later in 2024 with more details to come at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9.

A blurred version of the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 key art has leaked via @billbil_kun on X/Twitter, just hours after the reveal of the teaser.

As fans quickly noted, even blurred, it's a clear throwback to the classic Black Ops 1 box art.

Activision's Call of Duty marketing machine has kicked into gear with the release of the first teaser for Black Ops 6.

This first teaser, below, posted by the CharlieIntel X/Twitter account, shows live-action footage depicting Mount Rushmore being vandalized with the phrase "The Truth Lies." The clip comes as part of a teaser website that features an interactive television with just six channels, referencing the name of the game.

A second teaser has already made its way online, too, suggesting that it won't much longer before we see what the remaining four channels have in store. The latest clip is about 20 seconds shorter than the first, showing what seems to be the same mysterious group as they put up black and orange The Truth Lies posters.

Additionally, those who visit the website can hear ominous music playing when the digital TV is turned off. You can watch the newest teaser footage, posted by CharlieIntel, below.

Microsoft will reportedly announce its intention to release Black Ops 6 straight into Game Pass during its June Xbox showcase. Microsoft has so far declined to comment on the reports, but they tally with recent comments from Xbox president Sarah Bond, who indicated all Microsoft's games, including those developed by the recently acquired Activision, will launch straight into Game Pass.

Activision is reportedly targeting a late October 2024 release for this year's Call of Duty, which is expected to be called Black Ops 6 after teasers discovered in battle royale Warzone were acknowledged by developer Treyarch. Microsoft is also rumored to be ready to release the Call of Duty back catalog of video games into Game Pass ahead of Black Ops 6's release.

Though the TV-themed teaser website promises to reveal more soon, additional details on Black Ops 6 remain a mystery. We can at least expect to hear more when Xbox holds its next showcase come June 9, 2024.
