The Tetris Forever collection, which is set to release on November 12, 2024, will include a brand new game mode called "Tetris Time Warp". This mode allows players to warp through different eras of Tetris history, experiencing a dynamic mix of graphics, gameplay styles, and mechanics in real-time.
In "Tetris Time Warp", special "Time Warp Tetriminos" will appear that transport players to a different era of Tetris, such as the original 1984 version on the Soviet Electronika 60 computer, the 1989 black and white handheld era, or the 1993 "Bombliss" era. Players can use these time warps as a weapon against opponents in multiplayer, trapping them in a different era until they can complete the challenge.
The "Tetris Forever" collection will feature over 15 classic Tetris games from across the franchise's history, including some titles making their debut outside of Japan for the first time. It will also include a faithful recreation of the original 1984 Tetris, as well as over 90 minutes of new documentary content exploring the true story of the iconic puzzle game.
