Takaya Imamura, a former Nintendo developer known for his work on franchises like F-Zero and Star Fox, recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of Star Fox Zero coming to the rumored "Switch 2" console. In a social media post on November 1, 2024, Imamura expressed his desire to see the game ported to Nintendo's next console.

Imamura wrote, "I wonder if I'll be able to play Star Fox Zero on Switch 2... I'm not really involved in game development for this title, so I've been dying to play it for the first time in a while. The music is also great!"

It's worth noting that Imamura wasn't heavily involved in the development of Star Fox Zero, which was originally released for the Wii U. His comments suggest that at this late stage in the Switch's life cycle, a port to the current console is unlikely. Instead, he's speculating about the possibility of the game being brought to Nintendo's next-generation hardware.

Star Fox Zero received mixed reviews upon its initial release, with many players criticizing its control scheme, which relied heavily on the Wii U GamePad. A potential port to new hardware could address these issues and potentially breathe new life into the game.

While Imamura's comments are purely speculative and don't represent any official plans from Nintendo, they do highlight the ongoing interest in the Star Fox franchise and the potential for older titles to find new audiences on updated hardware. As always, any plans for future releases or ports would ultimately be up to Nintendo to decide and announce.
