Update [Thu 22nd Aug, 2024 14:30 BST]: In a livestream earlier today, Taito revealed the 10 games that will be included in Taito Egret II Mini Arcade Memories Vol. 3.
The list of the games includes:
- Mr. Do! (1982) - Players control a circus clown as they move around a board collecting cherries and avoiding red monsters, resembling dinosaurs.
- Rumba Lumber (1984) - a game about a lumberjack cutting down trees, which combines elements of Qix and Dig Dug.
- Metal Soldier Isaac II (1985) - an overhead run and gun/shoot 'em-up hybrid. Contrary to what the name suggests, the game is not a sequel.
- Wiz (1985) - a side-scrolling action game from Seibu Kaihatsu, where players control a spell-wielding wizard.
- Extermination (1987) - a vertical shooter that runs on the New Zealand Story hardware.
- Dr. Toppel Tankentai (1988) - a cute, quirky vertical shooter where players take control of a weird green creature.
- Top Landing (1988) - an arcade flight simulator
- Aqua Jack (1989) - a pseudo-3D action game where players control a hovercraft and battle against ships and aircraft.
- Galactic Storm (1992) - a shoot 'em up featuring a similar "chase-view" style perspective to titles like Taito's Night Striker and Sega's super-scaler projects.
- Akkanvader/Space Invaders '95: The Attack of Lunar Loonies (1995) - a follow-up to Taito's original Space Invaders featuring cute, colourful graphics.
Original Article [Fri 9th Aug, 2024 12:30 BST]: Taito has revealed that Taito Egret II Mini Arcade Memories Vol. 3 - the third in its series of SD card expansions for the Taito Egret II Mini - will be released in Japan this December (as spotted via Gosokkyu on Twitter).
The SD card will include 10 additional games — all of which were originally released in arcades between 1982 and 1995. The complete list of games is not currently known and is scheduled to be revealed during a Famitsu livestream later this month on August 22nd, which will be hosted by the Japanese voice actress Marie Miyake (Octopath Traveler II, Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood).
