The latest update to the Switch Online "mature" N64 app, version 1.2.0, has indeed addressed some emulation issues for Perfect Dark. This update was released alongside the addition of Shadow Man and Turok 2 to the mature N64 app library.

Key improvements for Perfect Dark include:

1. Significantly reduced blur effect, which was a major issue in the previous version.
2. Fixed X tracks (likely referring to audio tracks).
3. Corrected UV mapping issues.
4. Fixed the sun's light flare rendering through walls.
5. Improved debris rendering in explosions.

However, some issues still persist:

1. Sound mastering remains quiet.
2. Frame drops are still present, especially when shooting.
3. Light flares continue to render through guns and some walls (except for the sun, which is now fixed).
4. Explosions are still too dim, although debris is now working correctly.

It's worth noting that the input delay may have been slightly improved, but this is not confirmed. The update has also fixed a critical bug where the blur effect could potentially "freeze" the screen, making it impossible for players to progress.

Here's what else has been noted about the Switch Online version of Perfect Dark in this latest update:

- Sound mastering is still quiet
- Input delay feels a bit better (?)
- Blur effect is greatly reduced
- Still has many frame drops including when shooting
- X tracks are fixed
- Light flares still render through guns (and some walls) except for the sun which is fixed
- Explosions are still too dim but debris is working correctly
- UV's are fixed

Dataminer 'OatmealDome' has also shared some footage showing off the blur effect in Version 1.1.0 (the earlier build) compared to how it looks now after the latest Switch Online mature N64 app update:

[NSO - Nintendo 64]
- Version 1.2.0 appears to fix a issue in Perfect Dark where the blur effect was not emulated correctly.
- The bug could've made it impossible for the player to proceed due to it eventually "freezing" the screen

While these improvements are significant, the emulation is not yet perfect. Some users have compared the previous version to "playing on a 2007 emulator," suggesting that while progress has been made, there's still room for improvement.

This update demonstrates Nintendo's ongoing commitment to enhancing the Switch Online service and addressing emulation issues for classic N64 titles. As the mature N64 app continues to expand its library, we may see further improvements and fixes in future updates.
