Saber Interactive, Paramount Game Studios, and Avatar Studios have jointly announced a collaboration on a brand new, AAA game set within the popular Avatar franchise. Not the James Cameron one, the other one.

Set to arrive on PC and consoles, this untitled Avatar video game will be the biggest in the history of the franchise. While there have been several games based on the adventures of Aang, Korra, and their allies, it sounds like this will be the big action RPG fans have been waiting for.

The game will follow a brand-new story that'll have players "take on the role of an all-new, never-before-seen Avatar". It'll take place "thousands of years in the past", where you'll need to "master all four elements, engage in dynamic combat alongside companions, and experience the challenges and decisions that come with being the keeper of balance in the world".

That's about it for details right now, but it's an exciting prospect for fans of the show. Saber is a studio that lends its talents to a diverse range of games, including the likes of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, SnowRunner, Evil Dead: The Game, and so many others.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out, though it may be a while before it's shown. Are you excited for a big, AAA Avatar game? Tell us in the comments section below.
