The Pokémon Company has revealed a shift in the development of its mobile app Pokémon Sleep, moving it away from its main developer, Select Button.

As reported by Serebii on X (previously Twitter), the app will transition from a joint effort between TPC and Select Button — known for Magikarp Jump — to The Pokémon Works, a new subsidiary formed by TPC and ILCA earlier this year.

ILCA, recognized for their work on the Switch remakes Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, has already been assisting with Pokémon Sleep. However, the impact of this development move to the new subsidiary on the app's future remains unclear.

Recently, The Pokémon Works launched its official website, possibly in preparation for this announcement. The studio is known to be supporting Pokémon HOME maintenance, with Sleep becoming its second project.

The app appears to be performing well, with reports earlier this year indicating it had generated over USD $100 million. Interestingly, a phone isn't necessary to "play" Pokémon Sleep, as it's compatible with Smartwatches.
