Sony has not officially confirmed that PlayStation 5 faceplates are incompatible with the PS5 Pro. However, there are strong indications that existing PS5 Slim faceplates may not fit the new PS5 Pro model:

1. The PlayStation Direct store doesn't mention PS5 Slim faceplates being compatible with the PS5 Pro.

2. An infographic on the PS5 Pro's Japanese Amazon page suggests that the faceplates won't fit the new model.

3. A Reddit user who claimed to have early access to the PS5 Pro reported that while the bottom PS5 Slim plates can be attached to the Pro model, the top plates can't. This is allegedly due to the connecting teeth being in slightly different positions.

It's worth noting that Sony has kept the overall design of the PS5 Pro consistent with the PS5 family of products. The height is the same as the original PS5, and the width matches the current PS5 model. However, the internal changes to accommodate higher performance specs may have affected the faceplate compatibility.

For those looking to customize their PS5 Pro, it's likely that Sony or third-party manufacturers will release new faceplates specifically designed for the PS5 Pro in the future. The PS5 Pro is set to launch on November 7, 2024, priced at $700 / £700 / €800, and will include a 2TB SSD and a DualSense wireless controller.
