If you're already subscribed to Fortnite Crew and plan to be one for the foreseeable future, then the only change you'll see is the implementation of all the Battle Passes. However, anyone new to Fortnite Crew or who let their membership lapse and then wants to resubscribe, they'll be considered a new member. They can only claim premium rewards from Battle Passes with an active Fortnite Crew subscription, unless you purchase the individual Battle Pass.
Also, the price of a Battle Pass is going up by 50 V-Bucks to 1,000 V-Bucks. The real-world value of V-Bucks is staying the same, however. Once you've claimed a premium reward from a Battle Pass, you don't need to keep an active Fortnite Crew subscription. Those items remain accessible to you no matter what.
The blog post also confirms the upcoming Fortnite OG mode will have its own Battle Pass, complete with a premium tier to reward extra items. The mode becomes a permanent addition from 6th December 2024. Combined with the recent announcement that your XP gains will now contribute to all three (soon to be four) Battle Passes at once, you could put yourself in a position where you're earning multiple rewards every day while playing the game.
Does this incentivise you to subscribe to Fortnite Crew if you're a player? Let us know in the comments below.
