Nintendo has recently reiterated its stance on mergers and acquisitions as part of its Corporate Management Policy Briefing for FY2025. While the company doesn't rule out the possibility of future acquisitions, Nintendo's priority is to "organically expand the organization" rather than relying solely on acquiring other companies.

The main reasons for this approach are:

1. Maintaining creative culture: Nintendo wants new staff members to fully learn and understand its unique creative culture, which is easier to achieve through organic growth.

2. Selective acquisitions: In recent years, Nintendo has made only a handful of strategic acquisitions, including Shiver Entertainment in May 2024, Dynamo Pictures (renamed Nintendo Pictures) and SRD in 2022, and Next Level Games in 2021.

3. Preserving "Nintendo DNA": The company believes that bringing in a large number of people who don't possess "Nintendo DNA" might not be beneficial to the organization.

4. Focus on partnerships: For companies with similar development approaches, Nintendo is open to forming various partnerships, not limited to mergers and acquisitions.

This strategy aligns with Nintendo's long-standing approach to business growth and innovation. The company emphasizes the importance of maintaining its unique creative culture and development philosophy, which has contributed to its success in the gaming industry.

It's worth noting that this stance doesn't mean Nintendo will never make acquisitions. Instead, it suggests that any future mergers or acquisitions will be carefully considered and aligned with the company's core values and creative approach.
