The lead of the upcoming Mass Effect game emphasized the continuation of the 'mature tone' that was a hallmark of EA's original trilogy. This mature tone is characterized by complex storytelling, deep character development, and morally ambiguous choices that challenge players to think critically about their decisions. The narrative will likely delve into intricate themes and present players with scenarios that reflect real-world dilemmas, enhancing the emotional depth and engagement of the gameplay. This approach aims to preserve the series' reputation for rich, immersive storytelling while potentially introducing new elements that align with contemporary gaming expectations. Overall, the commitment to a mature tone suggests a thoughtful evolution of the series, balancing nostalgia with innovation.

Here's what he had to say on the project:

"Lots of people asking me about Mass Effect now that Veilguard reviews are out, and Oct 31 is close.
Both are from the studio, but Mass Effect is Mass Effect. How you bring a Sci Fi RPG to life is different than other genres or IPs...and has to have different kinds of love.
Regarding tone questions: Mass Effect will maintain the mature tone of the original Trilogy. This is all I'm gonna say for now."
