The Mario & Luigi: Brothership game for Nintendo Switch is being developed by Acquire, a Japanese game studio known for titles like Octopath Traveler, Tenchu, and Way of the Samurai. This is the first time a Mario & Luigi game has not been developed by the now-defunct AlphaDream studio.

According to the information found, Acquire is collaborating with Nintendo on the development of Brothership, which is set to release on November 7, 2024. The game is being built using Unreal Engine 5, marking a technical evolution for the Mario & Luigi series.

Acquire is an experienced and respected game developer, having worked on well-received JRPGs like the Octopath Traveler games. Their involvement has generated excitement among fans who are eager to see how they will put their own spin on the beloved Mario & Luigi franchise.

While details are still limited, the early previews of Brothership have been positive, suggesting it could be one of the best entries in the series. Fans will have to wait until the game's release to see how it stacks up, but the collaboration between Nintendo and Acquire seems promising.
