Red Dead Redemption 2 had one big problem, and hopefully GTA VI isn't doomed to repeat it.

As fantastic as Red Dead Redemption 2 is, I don't envy the players that can replay it over, and over, and over again.

Check out the first trailer for GTA VI below

After an initial playthrough where you take your time, finish the story, complete every side mission and scour the map for secrets and goodies, the last thing you'd probably want to do is start the whole thing over again, mainly due to the sheer length of the game's story mode.

Fortunately it's believed Rockstar Games has picked up on that minor criticism, as it's said GTA VI's story mode will be significantly shorter, hopefully giving us more time to take in the sights and do some exploring instead.

YouTuber LegacyKillaHD is the one who made the claim, saying the game will be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 2, but still longer than GTA V.

For reference, Red Dead Redemption 2's main story takes around 50 hurs to finish, whereas GTA V takes 32 hours, this is according to HowLongToBeat.

This potentially places GTA VI in the 35-40 hour bracket, a reasonable length for a singleplayer game, and not counting whatever side stories or activities will be available in the game's open world, as well just general messing around.

Of course, as always, Rockstar Games has commented on the game's length, nor has it even shown official gameplay yet though it's believed a second trailer will debut soon.

With this in mind take the rumour with a pinch of salt, but it wouldn't be the worst news in the world if it turned out to be true.

GTA VI is reportedly still on track to make its 2025 release date, though it's unclear when exactly we can expect it to drop.
