A fresh set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is beginning to become available to players, as midnight falls around the world and consoles tick over to July 5.

Weekly Challenges give you a short, curated playlist of five events which are mainly drawn from existing World Circuits races but may — as with this week — also include a one-off Special Event created just for the week.

That's a one-make for the Volvo V40 T5 added in the 1.48 update in May 2024, and unlike its first appearance in the Weekly Challenges you'll be racing on the blacktop — specifically the East course at Autodrome Lago Maggiore. It's a four-lap blast in the four-pot (yes, Japanese market T5s had a four cylinder engine) Volvo in any state of tune, with an 85,000cr reward for victory.

There's a couple of relatively low-value races this week, beginning with the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 at Trial Mountain. You'll need any Road or "Professionally Tuned" Car from Japan with all four wheels driven (GT doesn't distinguish all-wheel from four-wheel) for this two-lap race worth a mere 20,000cr. Don't worry about the "600" in the name, as that's only a suggested Performance Point (PP) rating.

Accompanying that is a similar race in the European Clubman Cup 600 — again with 600PP as a suggestion only. This time you'll need any Road Car from Europe (of any drivetrain type) for a three-lap race around Sardegna Road Track A, with 25,000cr up for grabs.

The prize money bumps up a bit for the Historic Sports Car Masters race at Goodwood, with a five-lap affair good for 55,000cr. There's quite a few limitations here though, including a hard cap at 580PP. You'll need a Road Car here too but, crucially, only one from between 1960 and 1989 inclusive. Also be aware that you will need to have at least started the relevant Bonus Menu Book, 46, to see this race.

All that's left is the biggest earner of all, in the World Touring Car 800. Again, there's a hard, 800PP limit for this race which takes place at Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise, and you'll need Racing Tires fitted to be eligible too. It's a ten-lap run, and rain may well play its part so be sure to have at least Intermediate tires available — and watch out for the high rate of tire wear. Victory is worth a cool 200,000cr.

There's credit rewards up for grabs if you complete one and three challenges this week, with 100,000cr and 200,000cr respectively. Don't forget that these aren't directly deposited: you'll need to redeem the tickets from your garage's Gifts section to get the money. Finish all five events during the seven-day window and you'll collect a Six-Star Roulette ticket.

You'll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we'd expect the next set on the morning of Friday July 12.
