A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races is now available, bringing along three races that each look like they could have come from a different point in the series' lifetime.

Recently added content is at the forefront as Race A takes us to the Grand Valley location for a six-lap race around the South short course in a combination that looks like it could have been lifted right from the very first GT game.

It's the usual one-make, road car race and the star of the show is the 1993 Honda Civic (EG) SiR-II — a used car hero from the first couple of titles. The car is still available as a Hot Pick in the Used Car Dealer if you haven't bought one already in the last 11 days since it was added, but you can borrow a stock example too.

You'll need to make sure the car is on its standard Comfort Medium tires for the race, which once again features no updates for Driver Rating. That means your results won't count towards your DR, but since Sportsmanship Rating updates are still active you'll want to keep it clean.

Do watch out for the False Start Check on the grid too. You'll need to be holding the car on the brakes between the moment the final light comes on and when they all go out to start the race or you'll face an on-the-spot loss of power for a few moments — potentially becoming the center of a big accident.

This week's Race B is very much a current-era affair, with another six-lapper that's been a regular fixture since the Beta test of Gran Turismo Sport in 2017.

It's fairly standard Sport Mode fare, with a race for the Gr.3 cars around the Red Bull Ring course. Aside from selecting your preferred car from the class — and it's a bit of a mix with regards to what the best car for the job is — and ensuring it's on Racing Hard tires, there's not a lot of complexity to this race.

However, we'll note that, after several weeks of various settings being available, this is the second successive week where only Brake Balance is adjustable. That applies to Race C as well.

The final race is one that could have been lifted straight from Gran Turismo 4, taking players to what used to be called "Circuit de la Sarthe" but is now named "24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit" in GT7.

It's a rare event for the hotchpotch Gr.1 category which encompasses cars from the classic Group C era of the 24-hour race right through to the modern Hypercars, by way of LMP1 and LMP1-H — and even some entirely fictional cars reimagined as top-tier endurance races from some Vision GT vehicles.

However it looks like its the overpowered Group C cars that are the weapons of choice once again; really the class could do with some subdivisions as this seems to happen every time. The Sauber C9 certainly dominates the leaderboards, but the Mazda 787B and Nissan R92CP may be good options for the race too.

You'll run pretty close for tires and fuel in this race as there's a 3x fuel consumption multiplier and a 6x tire wear multiplier in effect — so these items are consumed three and six times faster than the normal rate respectively — but you probably won't need more.

There is also a mandatory pit stop in effect though, so it's up to you if you want to take on a fresh set of Racing Mediums, sacrificing some time lost in the pits for some on-track pace at the end. Note that if you don't serve the stop you'll get a one-minute penalty after the race; even the long pit lane at Le Mans isn't enough to absorb that.

In order to access the Daily Races, you'll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 ("Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade") in the GT Cafe single player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to take part.

With GT7's Daily Races updating every Monday across the game's life to date, the next new set should arrive on Monday, June 17.
