Players will find a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races are now available, featuring one of the longest races we've ever seen in Sport Mode.

If you're not familiar with the Daily Races, they're GT7's core ranked multiplayer events. There's a new set of three each week, refreshing on Mondays, with races running every 20 minutes (or 30, for Race C) across that period.

The headliner this week is Race C, which is a bit of a beast and ranks right up there with the longest races — for both distance and time — seen in Sport Mode to date.

It uses the Nurburgring Endurance course, which combines the Nordschleife and the Sprint course for a slightly shorter lap than the full 24h circuit. That's lengthy enough already, but the race covers six laps of the circuit for a total race distance of 89 miles.

You'll be using the Gr.3 cars, so that should equate to a race time of around 50 minutes given the Racing Hard tires used here and the fact that at a 2x fuel consumption rate you're going to need to duck into the pits for some gas.

If that all wasn't quite enough, dynamic weather is also enabled in this race. That'll make each race different, and the long lap means you'll need to be prepared for incoming rain (and the track drying) or face a very long time struggling on the wrong tires.

On the other side of the coin there's a potentially chaotic race at the relatively short Road Atlanta circuit in Race A.

This slot usually features a one-make event for a road car, and it's no different this week… except that the car is a van. Specifically it's the Volkswagen Type 2 Sambabus, a minibus based on the Type 2 van.

It's a three-lap race for the Samba, with Comfort Soft tires required for the event. You'll need to be aware of the False Start Check, which gives a short, instant power penalty for any movement on the grid between the final light coming on and the race start. Driver Rating (DR) updates are suspended as usual, but Sportsmanship Rating (SR) updates remain active so keep it clean.

You might think that Race B is an island of normalcy, but even that has a little weirdness this week. That comes by way of a rarely seen Sport Mode circuit, at the Blue Moon Bay location. It's not the Tri-Oval though, but the Infield A course.

As it uses a significant amount of the oval, it's likely that the big-power Gr.4 cars will dominate this week — the Lamborghini Huracan probably the pick of them — in this single-class event. Whatever your choice though, it's a six-lap run on Racing Medium tires.

In order to access the Daily Races, you'll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 ("Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade") in the GT Cafe single player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to take part.

With GT7's Daily Races updating every Monday across the game's life to date, the next new set should arrive on Monday, August 19.
