Grice was inspired by his childhood memories of playing Fable and wondering how the game would have looked on lower-end hardware like the Game Boy Color. He spent 4 days creating this initial demake, which is currently available to download for free on itch.io. Grice has expressed interest in potentially expanding the demake further to cover more of the original game's story and locations, like Bowerstone and the Arena, if it gains enough interest from fans.
The demake features a chiptune version of Fable's soundtrack, fully voiced cutscenes (though the graphics are quite lo-fi), and the classic Fable gameplay loop of making moral choices, like whether to keep a man's affair secret or expose him to his wife. Overall, it's an impressive and nostalgic tribute to the beloved RPG series.
