If you love the gritty post-apocalyptic world of Fallout and the fast-paced military action of Call Of Duty, I might just have your next favorite game.

Currently in development from veterans who have worked on games like Cyberpunk 2077 and the BioShock franchise, Phantom Line looks like a straight-up banger. Better still, you can play it for free right now.

"Join the paranormal SWAT. Phantom Line is a co-op (1-4) shooter set in the post-nuclear European continent. Your mission is to search and contain paranormal events and activities (anomalies) hidden from the public eye, in an open world map full of dynamic events," reads the game's official synopsis.

So you can probably clearly see the inspirations from the likes of Fallout and Call Of Duty. Developed and published by

Antistatic Studios, Phantom Line looks like a genuinely engrossing FPS with enough new ideas to make it worth your time.

While the game doesn't have a release date yet, you can currently download and play it for free via Steam, although you only have until 18 June to do so.

It's worth noting there's no option to install a demo directly from the game's Steam page. Instead, you have to join the game's Discord server to get a key, which should be easy enough.

The developer writes: "Feedback is very important for our development process. We want to invite play testers to include their input from the very start and shape the future of the game.

"Because it is so early, that means there will be bugs and optimizations we have not yet fixed. At this moment, the simulation can only be played on a Windows PC using a mouse and keyboard."

Whether you dive into the demo or not, I have a feeling Phantom Line will be well worth keeping an eye on over the next couple years.
