Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the latest installment in BioWare's popular Dragon Age series, has been released to great fanfare. The game launched on October 31, 2024, marking nearly a decade since the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

BioWare has indeed thanked fans for their support through a heartfelt launch letter posted on their official blog. The letter expresses gratitude to the fans and highlights the significance of their support throughout the development process.

Key points from BioWare's message include:

1. The game is described as the culmination of the development team's love for the franchise and their shared vision.

2. Game Director Corinne Busche emphasized the deeply personalized experience players can expect, including character creation, combat, decision-making, and relationships with companions.

3. Creative Director John Epler mentioned that the game will take players to Tevinter and feature Solas, as hinted at the end of the Trespasser DLC.

4. Studio General Manager and Executive Producer Gary McKay reiterated BioWare's commitment to creating "characters you love in stories worth telling."

The launch has been notably successful, with Dragon Age: The Veilguard becoming EA's biggest ever single-player game launch on Steam. It surpassed the concurrent player count of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, reaching a peak of about 70,414 concurrent players shortly after release.

The game has received mostly positive reviews on Steam and is being well-received by fans who have been eagerly awaiting this new chapter in the Dragon Age saga. BioWare's return to the series after a long hiatus seems to have reinvigorated interest in the franchise, with the studio focusing on its strengths in storytelling and character development.
