Sticky Business launched in August 2023, and to date is the developer's only title to have launched. (It has, however, received some updates and two DLC packs. The Camp Zinnias DLC launched today.) One year later, I am still playing the game – as recently as a few hours ago. The cozy sticker sim is enchanting and long-lasting, but what has the developer been up to otherwise? Today, Spellgarden Games and Team17 Digital announced Ritual of Raven, a cozy farming sim with a magical story and a dash of adventure. It is also enchanting but in a whole new way! The cozy part isn't unexpected. But it sounds like Spellgarden Games is keeping up with its creativity, cooking up something new for farming!
Ritual of Raven is set in a world where different magical traditions live side by side. An ambitious plan is hatched to open portals between worlds. The ritual to open the portals went wrong, and – oops! – you fall through one of the portals. It's not long before you find yourself as the apprentice to a local witch, Sage. Find the Portal Keepers to help stabilize the troublesome portals, and keep an herb garden to collect ingredients needed for the rituals to fix said portals.
Your witchy-ness means you get to do lots of nifty things. You'll meet a sarcastic raven familiar. You don't need to get your hands dirty in your herb garden since you enchant a collection of magical Arcana Constructs to grow your ingredients. These ingredients are then used in rituals and to complete your book of shadows. What you grow must be supplemented by gathering knowledge. You can even change the moon's phase to suit your needs!
Ritual of Raven is a game for people dreaming of adventure and escape, but who also want to live their best witchy life. As you explore the magical world, befriend and trade with lots of characters (described lovingly as weirdos by the developer). You can decorate your farm, which is quite normal in farming sims. But you can also decorate the world that lies beyond its borders thanks to many customization options.
Developed by Spellgarden Games and published by Team17 Digital, Ritual of Raven will be released for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2025.
