Overwatch fans have long been asking for the return of the original game, which was taken away when the free-to-play Overwatch 2 launched in 2022.
Today, a new event update brings back the classic game - restoring 6v6 matches and the original hero lineup. Blizzard says it will include all the "wild gameplay from that time":
This limited-time event lets you play the first 21 heroes on 12 maps in four game modes. The event runs from November 12th to December 2nd.
Wondering if Classic mode will come back or if it's just a "one-off" thing? Blizzard says it's not meant to be a single event and will watch player feedback to guide future plans. They'll also test 6v6 modes in upcoming Overwatch 2 seasons.
