We've already established that everything put together falls apart, and that certainly applies to your average retro video game console – these devices are already operating way beyond their expected lifespans, so it goes without saying that parts will need replacing over time if you're hoping...
Atari has just purchased the Intellivision brand, along with "certain games" from Intellivision Entertainment LLC. Intellivision Entertainment LLC will rebrand and "continue its business of developing and distributing the Amico game console with a license from Atari to continue to distribute...
The Tamagotchi virtual pet is one of the defining toys of the 1990s, and following its 1996 launch had managed to sell a staggering 20 million units worldwide by spring 1998. However, as reported by Automaton West, the bubble burst pretty quickly, and soon Bandai was seeing stock being returned...
Can you imagine a world where magazines and websites were forbidden from reviewing games or sharing hints, tips and cheats related to those games? It might sound far-fetched today, given that we've got decades of video game press coverage to look back on and entire websites devoted to cracking...
The Nintendo Game Boy's incredible impact on the world of gaming cannot be understated; it pretty much created the handheld console market by itself, revolutionizing the way we play games on the go and putting subsequent (and more powerful) rivals in the shade in terms of sales. However, when...
The world of FPGA retro gaming has been dominated by MiSTer FPGA over the past few years, but in more recent times, news of the more powerful MARS FPGA platform has caught people's attention. It looks like MARS might have competition, though, as we've just had a bunch of new intel on a system...
A blurred version of the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 key art has leaked via @billbil_kun on X/Twitter, just hours after the reveal of the teaser. As fans quickly noted, even blurred, it's a clear throwback to the classic Black Ops 1 box art. Activision's Call of Duty marketing machine has...

Be prepared for the grind, but Wizardry's unforgiving style has been back in mainstream vogue for a while now, so if you're at all curious, Trebor's mission is absolutely worth accepting.

It’s a well-optimized port, and it plays as well as it did a decade ago.

Why? You have asked for it, so here it is... USB Partition The Wii U only allows you to format whole USB storage devices to use them for expanding the storage to store Wii U games. This stroopwafel plugin changes this. It lets you use a partition on your USB storage device for storing Wii U...

Why? Even though the Wii U has a built in SD slot, it doesn't support using it as a storage expansion to store Wii U games (unlike it's predecessor). USB pen drives are notoriously unreliable and hard drives are bulky and require extra power or a Y cable, using up multiple ports. Today big...

Credits go to JustMLC for creating this mod! Before starting the tutorial, it's important to know that you need a jailbroken Wii U (it may also work on emulator, but I haven't tested) with either Aroma or Tiramisu. If you want to also/only get the OG switch GamePad/TV button and/or OG system...

Fanmade games are always a delight to see, be it original or altogether recreated games made from scratch, and this case, a beloved arcade and SNES classic got such treatment. The original "Final Fight" is a "beat 'em up" game originally released for the arcades back in 1989 with the option to play with two players, and then later ported over to other consoles, such as the SNES, Sega CD and the GBA, with all three versions ranging from slight censored content like GBA port, to severe cut content like the SNES port, which had the playable character Guy, the Industrial area and the two player co-op gameplay removed, and to top it off, censored content as well. A development team going by the name "CFX", which consists of Edmo Caldas, Master Linkuei, Mauro Xavier and Oscar Celestini, have worked to put together an entirely new recreation of the original arcade game made from scratch, without any kind of pre-existing or reverse-engineered code, and managed to get the game working on the original SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive hardware, complete with all its 3 characters, 3 rounds/stages out of the 6 so far, and a survivor and attack modes implemented into the game. Those interested in trying out the WIP build of the homebrew port can find it on Itch.
After almost a year and a half in development and many beta versions, Aria of Sorrow Reprise v1.0 is now released! Reprise is a roguelike mod for Aria of Sorrow with a procedurally generated castle along with custom rooms, extensive new features, effects and re-balancing. Explore randomized areas, clear rooms, and then fight the boss to advance the game. Experiment with new equipment and soul abilities, with changes documented in-game with the '~' character. There are many more details in the readme, but it is easy to jump in and play! This mod is targeted to both beginners and experienced players with 4 difficulties, and does not require any previous map knowledge due to it's progression system and map generation. It's also very replayable, just use a different filename to generate a different castle. This has been a rewarding project that a lot of effort was put into - huge thanks to everyone who has played it and provided feedback to get to this point. Enjoy this latest release! Download Page
