SOUNDPEATS GoFree 2 Review

One more time with the Soundpeats. How liberated do I feel now, embracing the freedom offered by the SOUNDPEATS GoFree 2?

The packaging includes a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, which is pretty short. But that really isn't a problem these days for most people, who might have loads of USB-C cables lying around. You obviously also get the two earbuds, as well as a charging case and a user manual.

The Bluetooth codec it supports are LDAC, SBC, AAC. LDAC is a great high quality codec to support, but the open nature of the earphones might muddle that quality due to the external sound being let in. The positive of this is that you'll be more aware of your surroundings, making them ideal for being outdoors. With it having 5.3 Bluetooth connection, there is very little lag, and are perfectly usable for gaming and watching films.

The bass really stands out, but the highs, low and mid are good too. The audio itself is very crisp and clear; I can compare these to my Samsung Buds FE in terms of audio quality. You can fine-tune your listening experience with customizable sound EQ in the app, so you get the type of sound you want to whatever you are listening to. These Soundpeats also have the ability to cancel noise features, which does the job well enough for what they cost.

The buds feature hook design to better fit in around your ears without falling out. This is ideal for running, and for them to fall out is pretty impossible without mistake or without force. It's more comfortable than expected despite my wearing of glasses, which you'd think might clash. These ears are clearly made for doing sports, and in terms of comfort and managing to stay in place, they really do a good job.

The design of the case is different from the usual cases where it is bigger than other cases, but the material can get fingerprints and smudges. The case itself gives about two to three times more battery life to your earbuds. My only real complaint with the case is that it doesn't support wireless charging.

The price currently in the UK on Amazon is £69.99 which I think is great for the product you are getting when compared to ear buds. The only problem is if you will like how it fits on your ear. It is admittedly strange when compared to say how Samsung earbuds or Apple EarPods fit. If you can find them for £50 or less, they are a steal.

App

The app has three sections. The first one on the left is used for changing the audio options of your Soundpeats. The middle is clearly the home where you can see your battery life, with the option to upgrade the earbuds if a new firmware is available. With the option to see messages from Soundpeats. The UI doesn't necessarily do anything wrong, but it manages to bug me. I can't quite put my finger on why though.
