Replacing all Capsules in the game with SA1 Styled Goal Rings.

Introduction:

This mod replaces all Capsules in the game with SA1 Styled Goal Rings, it also includes custom Mission Cards and Multiplayer support.

Features:

  • A custom SA1 Styled Goal Ring model by Raphael Drew Boltman, edited from the official model used in the Y2K DLC.
  • This Goal Ring replaces all instances of the vanilla Capsule in the game through code, so this mod supports custom levels if they use the vanilla Capsule as their end objective.
  • As a little extra thing, Sonic can homing attack into the Goal Ring.
  • Custom Mission Cards that reflect the change of objective. All of them having full English and Japanese support alongside SD and HD quality textures depending if you are using HD GUI or not.
  • Multiplayer support. The Goal Ring fully supports Singleplayer, Co-Op and Battle modes.

Compatibility:

  • This mod was inspired by MainMemory's Goal Ring Mod but it's a standalone package, it doesn't require any dependencies.
  • It's recommended to load it on the bottom of the list (or at least below mods that might edit the vanilla Capsule model or functions such as Dreamcast Conversion).

As always, if you encounter any compatibility issues please reach me out in the comments below with your problem and LIST ME YOUR CURRENT ACTIVE MODS so I can take a look at it. I cannot help if I don't know which mods were you using alongside this one. Also ensure that both your Mod Loader and mods are up to date.

If your issue had an error message, please tell me when does that message pop up and the exact words of the message alongside any crash addresses or crash dumps. That information is extremely helpful when troubleshooting your issues.

Installation:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the SA Mod Manager installed, If you don't have it you can download it here.
  2. Download the mod, you can find the latest version in the "Files" section down below. If you use the OneClickInstall you can skip to Step 4.
  3. Extract the contents of the .7z in the "mods" folder, located inside the SADX directory.
  4. You should be now able to see the mod listed in the Mod Manager, just enable it by checking the box next to the name and hit the "Save" button.
  5. Enjoy!

Special Thanks:

This mod idea was by Raphael Drew Boltman, he supplied me with the model edit and the custom Mission Cards. I simply made and handled all the programming side of the mod.

Be sure to stay tuned for future updates, additions and fixes to the mod alongside new project releases!
