Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is a 2001 action-adventure stealth video game for the PS2.

In 2007, two years after the event that occurred with Shadow Moses, Solid Snake, who was now working for a freelancing group known as Philanthropy, infiltrates the oil ship USS Discovery in order to investigate the development of a new Metal Gear-type weapon. After a fight with a Russian military group and an old friend from one of Snake's previous adventures, which results in a big explosion, Snake is thought to have been killed in the aftermath of the explosion.

A quick jump forward in time brings us to the year 2009, and the player now assumes control of Raiden, an inexperienced agent working under the command of the Colonel and, it would appear, a member of a rebuilt Foxhound team. His first mission is to infiltrate the offshore clean-up facility known as Big Shell and free the President of the United States of America. The President was taken hostage by members of a terrorist group known as the Sons of Liberty. On the other hand, the situation is getting more and more confusing since it seems like practically everyone that Raiden talks with have some kind of covert objective, and it is difficult to differentiate a friend from an enemy…

The spy-themed action game Metal Gear Solid was followed up with the release of its sequel, titled Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The protagonist of the game must continue to sneak past guards, outwit them using a variety of different gadgets, and overcome the challenging boss adversaries in order to progress through much of the game's gameplay. The player has the opportunity to acquire a wide variety of firearms throughout the course of the game. Some of these firearms are from the past, such as the FAMAS and Socom, while others are more recent, like the AK-47. Combinations in martial arts can be utilized to bypass defenses. Crawling down narrow passages, looking cautiously around corners, and making acrobatic leaps are all feasible means of evading capture. The protagonist can also insert his gun into a guard's back, which will take him by surprise, or he can hang from the rails to effectively hide from the guard. Additionally, the cardboard box has been restored, and it can once more be used as a hiding place.

There are a variety of useful items that can be picked up along the road, including stealth suits, mine detectors, thermal goggles, and others. The radar from the first game is still in the game and notifies the player of the positions of guards while also displaying the field of view of those guards. In the event that an alarm is sounded, the radar will be turned off, giving the hero more time to get away. Before the radar may be used in certain circumstances, it must first be enabled, which is a step that must be taken.

The game, much like its predecessor, features a significant amount of cutscenes and codec talks. The in-game 3D engine is used for all of the cutscenes in the game, and the motion capture technology is used to animate the characters' actions.
